The Last American Soldier (1988)
“The Last American Soldier” is a thrilling 1988 action film directed by Antonio Margheriti, also known as “Commander”. The main character, a former special forces soldier, goes to the jungles of Southeast Asia to free hostages held by an armed group. The hero’s water route lies through an area teeming with enemies and traps. The main role is played by Lewis Collins, and his character has all the features of a classic action hero: courage, bravery and the ability to survive in extreme conditions.

Plot:
Commander and his small band of freedom fighters make life difficult for the VC after the Vietnam War is over. They free Vietnamese prisoners, and destroy enemy convoys every chance they can get. This severely upsets the evil Russian Vlasov, who is working with the VC in various nefarious enterprises. An ultra-violent, Rambo style movie filmed in the Philippines.
